Hello, and thanks for visiting my website. As an illustrator, I frequently get asked about what it's like to do what I do. Questions come from school and illustration students through to people thinking of making a career change later on. I also hear from children’s writers looking for artists to illustrate their stories, as well as those working on ideas with creative collaborators.
Often the questions come from visitors to my regular 'Cambridge Open Studio', as well as people who contact me via my website. See Shadowhouse, Events and News.
As there is a demand out there, I have decided to create this FAQs page to answer some of the many and wide-ranging questions that have been put to me.
I'm inviting people to Email Amanda with other illustration questions not already covered on this page. I'd love to hear from you too if you are in another part of the children’s picture book industry and have a different experience that you'd like added. I'll try my best to answer any new questions by adding them to this page on a fairly regular basis, depending on my workload at the time.
