Hello, and thank you for visiting my website. These FAQs answer a wide range of illustration questions. Email if you have a question that isn’t covered already on these pages and I will try my best to answer any new questions and add them to the site. Please note ~ to keep this site relevant Q&As are added to the FAQ pages on a fairly regular basis, depending on current workload. The Q&As are edited first, with any identifying names removed to preserve anonymity.
As an illustrator I frequently get asked about what it’s like to do what I do. Questions come from school and illustration students through to people thinking of making a career change later on. I also hear from children’s writers looking for artists to illustrate their stories, as well as those working on ideas with creative collaborators. Often the questions come from visitors to my Cambridge Open Studios, as well as people who contact me via my website. I’m also pleased to hear from people in other parts of the children’s picture book industry who might have a different experience that they would like added. I hope you find the topics covered here helpful!
